American Management Services LLC was founded by John Goodman, the current chairman of the company, in 2003. AMS was formed to restructure Pinnacle's business to better serve our clients. Goodman Management Group, as it was originally named, was a Seattle-based multifamily residential management firm.
In 1985, Stan Harrelson, the current chief executive officer of American Management Services, dba Pinnacle, became a partner and the firm was renamed GFS (Goodman Financial Services). Responding to client demands, the company expanded nationwide in the late 1980s.
In 1994, GFS and Phoenix Realty created a partnership and acquired Houston-based Sovereign National Management Company. Operations were merged into Pinnacle Realty Management, now American Management Services LLC, dba Pinnacle, which now boasts more than 5,000 employees.
